Congressman Roskam:  Trump budget is a “wish list.”

(CHICAGO)  West Suburban Republican Congressman Peter Roskam is reacting to criticism of President Trump’s proposed budget.    The budget calls for increases in military spending while cutting funds to other agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency.

Roskam told “The Big John and Ray Show” that the President’s proposal is not set in stone.  “I guess the best way to characterize it is, it’s a wish list, it’s a proposal, and now Congress will enter into this process, and go through these various line items and fund different things at different levels.”

Roskam also talked about the Republican plan to replace Obamacare.   The Congressman says Obamacare is failing and must be replaced.  “Now the idea is ‘Let’s transition to something new.’   And transitions are hard.  They are difficult.  They have rough edges to them.   And what you’re hearing is a discussion about those edges.”

Congressman Roskam has been in the news lately for refusing to hold public town hall meetings with his constituents, which he says are a waste of time because they result in little more than a lot of screaming.
