(CHICAGO) Mayor Rahm Emanuel is denouncing Governor Bruce Rauner for demanding the resignation of Cook County Assessor Joe Berrios.

Emanuel isn’t defending Berrios so much as he is dumping on Rauner, saying “You’ve never submitted a balanced budget or had one voted on. People in glass houses shouldn’t be throwing stones. Second, the voters decide whether someone should stay or go. That’s what elections are about. And third, I’m proud working down in the legislature with the City Council joining me that we got homeowners in the City of Chicago an addition 40% on their homeowners exemption for this coming property tax season.”

And so the Mayor works in a plug for himself as he denounces Rauner.
