(CHICAGO) In the race for governor, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is responding to candidate Chris Kennedy’s attack on him.
Kennedy accused Emanuel of intentionally driving blacks and other Chicagoans of color out of town with his gentrifying economic development policies.
The mayor said the Tribune’s right to say Kennedy’s hallucinating and added this about Kennedy, “It is easy to cast blame and to point fingers. Where are the ideas? Where are the solutions to real challenges to make those challenges opportunities?”
Emanuel also took a shot at Governor Rauner. He suggested when he’s done with his stay at the Quincy Vets Home he ought to bring his sleeping bag up to the northwest side and resume construction of a state veterans home there.
