(CHICAGO) At a wide-ranging news conference in his Chicago office, Senator Dick Durbin had opinions about President Trump and Speaker Madigan.
Durbin called in the news cameras to take pictures of a mother and child separated at the border whom he pressured the Trump administration to re-unite, “The immigrant policy of the Trump Administration is heartless and cruel and this is the worst example.”
Durbin then denounced the unpredictable president for his behavior at the G7 and the breaking news of Trump planning to leave the talks in Singapore early, “He is unreliable, unpredictable and usually unprepared.”
Then, the senator was revealing he urged House Speaker Mike Madigan to use a more independent committee to recommend a new state party executive director amid the #MeToo scandal, noting “I asked him to make what I thought would be a significant move to show that he gets it!”
Durbin was asked if he’d ever seen Madigan use locker room talk against women, “Never. Never. Not once.”
