(CHICAGO) St. Rep Jeanne Ives – the conservative who almost knocked off Gov Rauner in the Republican primary – is unloading today on several topics.
Ives is warning that Democrats may be planning a surprise state gas tax hike for transporation projects in the lame duck session of the legislature during the first week of January. She pay for new projects by cutting current spending.
“I would take it out of the current hide.”
Here’s Jeanne Ives on Gov Rauner shopping for a replacement after he narrowly beat here in the primary.
“The most honest statement he made in the entire campaign was ‘I’m not in charge.’ He should have stopped after that statement and said, ‘I’m out!'”
And she wants the rule of law imposed on Mike Madigan’s 13th ward organization for trying to disqualify aldermanic challenger David Krupa.
“They’re a bunch of bullies! That’s what it says. These guys are thugs and bullies!”
So Ives says she’s writing a check for the Krupa camjpaign.
