Moscow Trucks In Fake Snow, Faced With Warmest Winter Since 1886

Normally crews in Moscow would be removing snow from the streets, but with the current weather being so mild, they’ve resorted to bringing it in so officials can decorate downtown for its new year’s celebrations.

The Russian capital is suffering from record-breaking high temps. The last time it was this warm in December the calendar said 1886.

“It’s not normal at all,” said one passerby to The Guardian , adding, “Winters used to be a lot harder here.”

But the mercury levels aren’t just affecting the upcoming party at Red Square. Hibernation at the zoo has been interrupted while flowers are already blooming at Moscow State University’s apothecary garden.
