National Parks Will Be Free On These Five Days In 2020

If you’re looking to see the preserved beauty of America, nothing beats visiting one of the National Parks.

While vehicle entrance fees have climbed in recent years – in some cases reaching upwards of $35 – there are a few days in the new year that won’t cost you a cent.

The National Park Free Entrance Days for 2020 are Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, April 18 to celebrate the first day of National Park Week, the National Park Service’s birthday on August 25, National Public Lands Day on September 26, and Veterans Day.

However, that money is put to good use. The NPS notes that 80 percent is used to “enhance the visitor experience” at the park where you paid the fee, while the remainder is sent to the 308 parks that do not charge to enter.
