Hope you’re wherever you need to be for New Year’s Eve because getting to your destination at this point might be a bit difficult.

Much of the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest are under a winter weather alert with heavy snow and possible blizzard conditions rolling across on Sunday.

“Severe travel disruptions are likely for these areas through Monday,” says the National Weather Service, with more snowfall expected.

The Northeast is about to get smacked with a “significant” ice storm Monday night through Tuesday morning, notes CNN meteorologist Derek Van Dam, which could down trees and power lines.
