David Jennings
David Jennings brings a wealth of experience to the WLS Newsroom. Hes been anchoring and reporting the news for over thirty years. His interest in radio started at the then Pace College, where he worked his way up to General Manager of the college radio station. From there, David moved to Upstate New York taking a news job at WALL-AM/FM in Middletown, then on to WHVW/WHVS in Hyde Park.Davids journey took him next to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he spent twelve years reporting and anchoring at WICC. While covering the East Coast blizzard of 1978 and hurricanes in New England, he gained invaluable experience, leading him to other markets. In the late 80s and early 90s, David moved on to WTOP and then WJZE in Washington, D.C. In 1993 David headed to Philadelphia, where he was News Director and morning anchor at WDAS-AM & FM.
In 1997 WMAQ brought David to Chicago where he anchored and reported some of the biggest news stories of the day. Chicago proved to be a good fit for him, which lead him to streaming media from 2000 until 2003. In 2003 David joined the staff of WLS Radio as a talk show host, first working with political commentator Carl Jeffers, then as a solo host. In 2006 David moved from the host chair to the news chair. During his career he has covered politics, crime, education, the environment, and has a special interest in public transportation issues.
