Chicago's Big 89 is now WLS 890 AM, Chicago’s Talk Station. A 50,000-watt radio giant with an issue-oriented talk radio format including news headlines, local issues, pop culture, entertainment and more. All the top talk radio hosts are here, including, Don Wade & Roma, Jerry Agar, Rush Limbaugh, Roe Conn and Sean Hannity. Over 80 years of broadcasting! EOE/AA.
Objective: Assist in daily activities of the WLS-AM 890, Chicago’s Talk Station Promotions Department and beyond, which include, coordinating and working on-site events, interacting with other interns and promotions staff, managing the prize closet, mailing out prizes and assisting staff with other miscellaneous duties. You may also have the opportunity to work for our sister station, 94.7 WLS-FM. Attention to detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard is a must! Requirements: • Must have the ability to work both during the week for office hours, but mostly nights and weekends out of office at events/promotional locations. • Must be a college student, receiving school credit for this internship. • Must be able to lift 20+ pounds, load and unload station vehicles and so on. • Must be available to work a variable 15 hours a week. • Must be able to interact with others without conflict.. Hours: • 15-20 hours per week, including some nights and weekends. Selection Process: • Provide a resume and cover letter when applying.
