(CHICAGO) Two friends recently won $250,000 after purchasing a scratch-and-win ticket in the Irving Park neighborhood.

Margarito Martinez, 66, and Hernan Sandoval, 52, bought the $5 Black Diamond 7s scratch ticket at Supermercado La Gloria, 4117 S. Kedzie, and won the top prize, according to a statement from Illinois Lottery.

The two met 20 years ago at a supermarket they both worked at. Both said they plan on using their winnings to pay for their children’s college education.

The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
