(NAPERVILLE) Roadwork in west suburban Naperville will require a major traffic pattern shift on North Aurora Road starting Thursday and lasting through September.
A new traffic pattern will be installed on North Aurora Road, reducing it to a single lane in each direction near Illinois Route 59, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation. Both eastbound and westbound traffic will have a dedicated left turn lane at Route 59.
The traffic shift is part of an ongoing road reconstruction project along Route 59 intended to increase the road’s capacity, reduce the potential for crashes and relieve traffic congestion, according to IDOT.
Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time for the duration of the project, which should be finished by the end of September.
