The Cubs scored a no-hitter over the weekend and Bill Cameron says it’s got the local congressman talking.

The Cubs success, even with a no-hitter now, had Cubs congressman Mike Quigley wisecracking at the City Club.

“Being optimistic because I am a Cub fan, anybody can have a bad century,” Quigley said. “And, you know, I said this joke this morning, and I got some negative feedback.  I told the truth, I said, “You know, I’m so tired of being bashed as anti-Sox.  I don’t hate the Sox.  Every time, every time I see Sheriff Dart I thank him personally for letting so many Sox fans out on electronic monitoring so that they can go to games.”

Sox fans are not amused, but the Cubs are beginning to look like contenders.
