(CHICAGO) A former top DJ of the 1960’s has passed away.
Bernie Allen worked at various Chicago radio station from the 1950s through the 1980s, but may be remembered best for his time on WLS for most of the 1960’s.

Born Bernard Hallenberg, the native Chicagoan began at an early age, working in radio while still in high school.
In the mid-1950’s, Allen worked at WIND, moving to WJJD in the early 1960s and then made the move to WLS in 1963.
Allen passed away on Monday at the age of 86 and is survived by two children and two grandchildren.
