(CHICAGO) Chicago area rock musician Jim Peterik is not happy to learn Donald Trump has been playing the Survivor hit “Eye of the Tiger”, at his campaign rallies.   Peterik told “The Big John Howell Show” on WLS that it was news to him that Trump was playing the song that Peterik co-wrote with former Survivor bandmate Frankie Sullivan.

“Any candidate is perfectly able to license this properly and then we get the rights to say yes or no.   I have no idea if we’re getting paid for this, and we gotta find out.”

Peterik would not say how he feels about Trump personally, but indicated he is not a fan of any of the candidates running for President.  “If there was someone that I really radically disagreed with their platform, I would really do everything I could to block that.  But I think all the candidates are equally bad.  I’ve got nothing against Trump or any of these guys.  But they use it just like without permission.   That ain’t cool.   We gotta find out.”

Four years ago, Sullivan filed a lawsuit to get then-Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich to stop using “Eye of the Tiger” at his campaign rallies.
