(CHICAGO) Closures for pavement repairs begin on northbound Kingery Highway (Illinois 83) between Grove Avenue and Irving Park Road (Illinois 19), in Bensenville, Monday, June 13. Kingery will be reduced down to two lanes.

Bridge repairs and safety improvements start Monday, June 13 on Main Street (Illinois 31) over the Edgewood Ravine, south of Illinois 62, in Algonquin. The project will continue through the summer months.

From the Illinois Department of Transportation, “the bridge that carries Main Street over the Edgewood Ravine will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Lane width reductions and temporary traffic signals also will be in place for the duration of the project.”

Also, IDOT instructs that all northbound left turns from Illinois 31 at Edgewood Drive will be prohibited. A posted detour will direct traffic west on Beach Drive and north on Cardinal

In Lake Villa, Fairfield Road will be closed to traffic north of Grand Avenue (Illinois 132) for ongoing intersection improvement. The project consists of pavement widening, resurfacing and traffic signal installation.

As far as CTA projects, there is an “Overnight Boarding Change” in place, as Blue Line trains will run on only one track between Clark/Lake and Damen from 10:00 p.m. on Monday through 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14.

Also beginning on Monday, June 13, Forest Park-bound Blue line trains will not stop at Irving Park station at all through July 5.
