(CHICAGO) On a clear and cool morning, almost 40,000 participants from around the world set out on the Bank of American Chicago Marathon, one of the six World Marathon Majors, along with Boston, New York, London, Berlin and Tokyo,
Among the elite runners, Abel Kirui of Kenya was the winner, with a time of 2:11:23. Diego Estrada of Flagstaff. AZ, finished 8th with a time of 2:13:56.
Florience Kiplagat of Kenya, was the top woman finisher, with a time of 2:21:32.
