Gun control idea misfires at City Hall

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) At City Hall, where gun control is a main topic, one proposal has stalled.

The stalled idea involves banks that do business with the city. The proposal would compel them to swear under oath that none of their clients sell bump stocks or assault weapons to anyone under 21.

Ben Jackson of the Illinois Bankers Association told the aldermen this week that it’s unenforceable, “The problem here is you might provide a loan or card processing services to a bait shop in Montana that just happens to sell an AR-15 used gun on consignment to a 19 year old.”

So the aldermen have put the proposal on hold.
