Rauner: “I will not lose”

By Bill Cameron, WLS-AM News

(CHICAGO) In an interview with Bill Cameron for Sunday night’s “Connected to Chicago” program here on WLS, Governor Bruce Rauner made his closing argument for re-election, including one surprise.

Bruce Rauner is a man with no regrets. He says he wouldn’t do anything differently in the controversies over the Quincy Veterans Home or Sterigenics, nor his F-word commercial or the Trump visit to Murphysboro.

And there was this:

Cameron: “This campaign has been so bitter I wonder if you lose would you attend a Pritzker inauguration?

Rauner: “Well, Bill, I’ll say this. My goal is to make sure that we win and I will always, I was born here, lived my whole life here, raised six children here, worked for teachers and police officers here my entire business career. I love it here and I will always strive to help create a better future here for the people of Illinois because this is our home. And I firmly believe that we will prevail.”

Cameron: “Was that a yes or a no?”

Rauner: “Well, you asked a hypothetical question about whether I will lose. I will not lose.”
