(CHICAGO) — Metra Electric trains were back up and running Monday after several days of canceled or limited service, but it looks like that limited service will continue through the week.
Metra says that the trains will continue to run on a modified schedule through Friday.
Some trains have been canceled while others will make extra stops. Trains are running on one track south of Kensington because of damage caused last week by a freight train derailment near Harvey that caused damage to overhead wires and two electrical substations.
Service was initially canceled on Wednesday of last week because of the extreme cold, followed by the derailment.
