Uber Driver Accused Of Trying To Kidnap Two Women

A Pittsburgh Uber driver has been arrested on kidnapping charges after allegedly trying to trap two female customers in his car.

Police say driver Richard Lomotey picked up the two women early Saturday morning, and started driving somewhere other than the destination address. Eventually, he pulled over, locked the doors, and told the women “You’re not going anywhere”.

The women managed to escape from the back seat and contacted police, who arrested Lomotey shortly after.

Uber says Lomotey has been cut off from their service and that they are cooperating with the investigation. Lomotey is an assistant professor at the nearby Penn State Beaver campus.
