Texas Man Accused of Shooting 4 Found Dead

Texas authorities have called off a statewide manhunt for a man accused of shooting four people after he was found dead.

Pavol Vido, 65, was found at 2 p.m., dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials say. The discovery ended a shooting spree that left one woman dead and three people — including a Liberty County Sheriff’s deputy — injured. The chain of events began at 7 a.m. when Vido reportedly shot three employees at a plumbing company. One of them, a secretary, died from her injuries. A deputy followed the suspect to the parking lot of a veterinary clinic, where Vido shot him in the throat before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Investigators say Vido was living in a metal storage container behind the plumbing company. However, the owner of the company recently had him served with eviction papers.
