New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed a law that could allow for the release of US President Donald Trump’s New York state tax returns.

The law, expected to face legal challenges, would allow New York officials to release the state tax returns of certain elected and appointed individuals – if requested in writing by either the US House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance Committee, or Joint Committee on Taxation.

President Trump is the first US President since Watergate to not publicly release his tax returns; although, he says he would if he weren’t under audit, PBS reports.
