A Florida sheriff’s deputy has been arrested and charged with planting drugs during more than a hundred traffic stops.

Prosecutors say Zachary Wester would “routinely” pull over motorists for minor violations, then arrest them on drug charges after planting illegal substances. Jackson County officials have dropped charges in more than 120 cases as a result.

One official said Wester’s actions “put innocent people in jail”. He’s facing a long list of felony charges including racketeering, fabricating evidence, and possession of a controlled substance.
