As tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate, the U.S. reportedly plans to send around 500 more troops to Saudi Arabia.

Sources say the troops will become reinforcements to the U.S. military and support personnel already on-site.

They will help with preparations for a Patriot surface-to-air missile system, a runway, and other airfield improvements at the Prince Sultan Air Base, located to the east of the country’s capital of Riyadh.
