Prosecutors in Ohio claim that major drug companies were “turning a blind eye” to massive shipments of opioids into the state.
According to court documents, drug makers would ignore suspicious-looking orders of prescription painkillers out of greed. Attorneys say company emails show that they knew about the potential harm the drugs were causing.
Drug makers are required to implement a “Suspicious Order Monitoring” system to flag sketchy orders and report them to the DEA, but prosecutors say most companies failed to do so
