David Hedison, the actor who starred in the original version of “The Fly,” has died at the age of 92.

Although Hedison’s family announced his death Monday, the actor actually passed away Thursday in his Los Angeles home. His specific cause of death was not revealed.

In addition to playing the scientist whose head ended up on a fly in the 1958 classic, Hedison appeared in two James Bond films and starred in two TV series: the 1960s show “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” and the daytime soap “Another World.”
