Tropical Depression forms Near Florida

As a precursor to bigger things that are on the way, a tropical depression has formed in the Atlantic Ocean outside Florida.

The storm, which currently boasts 30 mile-per-hour winds, emerged Monday about 120 miles southeast of West Palm Beach, meteorologists say. At its current rate of 13 miles per hour, weather experts expect it to reach Florida and the Bahamas by Tuesday.

While the storm won’t have a chance to develop into a full-fledged hurricane, it’s expected to dump up to three inches of rain on the Florida coast and the Bahamas.
