‘Unprecedented’ fired burn in Arctic

In what has been called ‘unprecedented,’ scientists have been tracking more than 100 intense wildfires across the Arctic circle.

Since June, fires have been tracked across Alaska, Greenland, and Siberia, CNN reports.

Fires do occur in the Arctic but not this many. They follow the hottest June on record. Officials say July could be another record month for high temps as the area has been experiencing a heatwave.
