Some University of Mississippi students bearing firearms posing in front of a memorial to lynched civil rights icon Emmett Till are now facing a potential investigation by the Department of Justice.

The three students, two of them brandishing weapons, have already been suspended by their fraternity, Kappa Alpha.

According to U.S. Attorney Chad Lamar of the Northern District of Mississippi in Oxford, the information has been referred to the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division for further investigation.
