Rescue missions are underway after a U.S. Navy fighter jet crashed in the California desert.

The plane, a F/A-18E Super Hornet, went down Wednesday morning in Death Valley National Park near the Naval Air Weapons Station in China Lake.

According to reports, some visitors to the park suffered minor injuries related to the crash.
