New Dinosaur Species Discovered After Hiding In Plain Sight

Scientists in Johannesburg, South Africa have discovered a brand new dinosaur species – although they probably should have noticed it sooner.

Turns out, the dinosaur bones had been sitting in a museum for more than 40 years, misidentified as a Massospondylus, a common dinosaur in the area.

But now researchers say the remains are from an entirely different species, dubbed “Ngwevi intloko”, or “gray skull”.

The “gray skull” was about 10 feet long with a long, slender neck and ‘chunky body’, eating mostly plants and small animals.
