The National Rifle Association has offered its “deepest sympathies” for the victims of the two mass shootings over the weekend.

However, the gun-rights group said it “will not participate in the politicizing of these tragedies.”

The NRA statement said the group is committed to the “safe and lawful use of firearms” and that it will work to “pursue real solutions” that protect everyone from these types of acts.
