Accomplished author Toni Morrison has passed away. She was 88-years-old.

She died on Monday. Her publisher confirmed the news on Tuesday morning.

Morrison was known for her stories about the black experience. Such titles as Beloved, Song Of Solomon, Sula and God Help The Child moved many readers.

Morrison was the first African American woman to win a Nobel Prize. She also won a Pulitzer Prize for Beloved. Morrison was also a professor emeritus at Princeton University.
