Jeffrey Epstein’s death has officially been ruled a suicide by New York’s chief medical examiner.

The Friday announcement confirms last week’s preliminary finding that Epstein hanged himself, NPR reports.

Questions still remain pertaining to just how such a high-profile inmate was able to kill himself while in federal custody.

Since Epstein’s death, some of his alleged victims have filed lawsuits against his estate.
