Jail admin wife pulls gun on fundraising teens

Four black high school football players, out fundraising for their school, were ordered on the ground at gunpoint by an Arkansas jail administrator’s wife.

Authorities say they received a report of “suspicious persons” August 7th in Wynne, Arkansas. Responding officers found 46-year-old Jerry Kelly, who is white, holding the kids at gunpoint.

They told police there were selling discount cards. Two were even wearing their team jerseys.

Kelly turned herself in after being charged Monday with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a minor. She was released that night after posting $10,000 bond. Station WMC reports the school is considering an end to door-to-door fundraising.
