An Iowa college professor has resigned after making controversial social media posts supporting the radical far-left group Antifa.

Jeff Klinzman, an adjunct English professor at Kirkwood Commmunity College, would post to an “Iowa Antifa” Facebook group, expressed a desire for “revenge” against “evangelical Christians”, and once replied to a presidential tweet by posting “Yeah, I know who I’d clock with a bat…”

In a statement, the college said it had accepted Klinzman’s resignation and that its decision was based not on politics or free speech, but “securing a safe learning environment”.
