In what is being billed as a goodwill gesture, many nations have offered to help Brazil put out the Amazon fires with an aid package worth $20 million.
But how far will that money go? Some experts say it will barely make a dent in preventing further destruction of the rainforest’s ecosystem.
University of Florida professor, Robert T. Walker, said: “Twenty-million dollars is a drop in the bucket, it’s absurd to imagine logistically what effect it can have.”
