Air Force Fighter Jet Accidentally Fires Rocket In Arizona

The U.S. Air Force is investigating after a fighter jet accidentally fired a rocket while flying over the Arizona desert.

Officials say the plane fired an M-156 ‘white phosphorus’ rocket in a military zone about 60 miles outside of Tucson.

White phosphorus rockets are used to create smoke for identifying targets or hiding troops. Fortunately, no injuries, property damage, or fires were reported.
