The classic ‘OK’ hand gesture has been added to the Anti-Defamation League’s list of hate symbols.

While the hand signal, with three fingers extended and the thumb and forefinger in a circle, has been commonplace for decades but has taken on new meaning among white nationalist groups, who claim it forms a ‘W’ and ‘P’ for ‘white power’.

And ADL spokesman says they were reluctant to add the symbol to the list since it’s often harmless, but eventually “felt it was important to add”.
