Unemployment rate continues to drop across demographics

As employers continue to add jobs – 136,000 last month, according to the Labor Department – unemployment rates continue to drop across multiple demographics.

The Hispanic jobless rate hit an all-time low since the stat was first tracked in 1972 – 3.9%.

Unemployment among black Americans was unchanged in September at 5.5% – still a full half-percent lower than last year.

White unemployment dropped from 3.4% to 3.2% in September – a 50 year low.

The Seattle Times reports that those with less than a high school education also saw better employment opportunity with that jobless rate falling from 5.4% in August to 4.8%.
