The Judge in Amanda Guyger’s murder trial says she couldn’t refuse the convicted former Dallas police officer a hug.

Station News 9 reports Judge Tammy Kemp said Monday that giving Guyger a bible and hug was a first for her on the bench and that she “could not” refuse the embrace afterward.

Judge Kemp said she watched Guyger ‘change’ throughout the trial; a jury finding her guilty of murder and sentencing her to 10 years for the mistaken shooting death of her upstairs neighbor Botham Jean.
