Average Price of Gas Drops 4 Cents per Gallon

Now seems like a pretty good time to fuel up as the average price of gas here in the U.S. has dropped 4 cents per gallon to $2.68 over the last couple of weeks.

According to the Lundberg Survey, the price may drop even further as refinery maintenance season starts to slow coupled with the fact that demand for gasoline declines this time of year.

Compared to a year ago, the price at the pump is 24 cents lower, with the highest average price in the nation at $4.71 a gallon in San Francisco and the lowest being $2.12 in Baton Rouge.
