Students Charged in Frat Brother’s Drinking Death

Five California college students have been charged in the alcohol poisoning death of their fraternity brother.

The misdemeanor charges, filed Wednesday by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, come nine months after the death of 18-year-old Noah Domingo, a student at the University of California. His body was found in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon frat house, located off-campus, with a blood-alcohol level of 0.331, police say. Although investigators have determined the death was not the result of a hazing ritual, the university has since forced the fraternity to disband.

Zavier Larenz Brown, Domingo’s “big brother” in the fraternity, faces the most serious charge: one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor causing great bodily injury, which carries a penalty of up to 18 months in jail. The other five face up to six months behind bars.
