What would you do to escape a burning building? Images out of Los Angeles show a man clinging to the side of a high-rise, six stories up, as fire rages out of the floor’s windows.

At least 300 firefighters responded to the Wednesday morning blaze and helped to rescue residents as at least two were close to jumping. Some had already been fighting a nearby fire when they were called to the Burlington Plaza Apartments.

Eight people were injured including one adult and a 3-month-old were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The man seen clinging to an exterior window was rescued by a ladder truck.
