White House officials announced on Thursday that a pilot program is being launched to allow some U.S. to limit some health benefits for Medicaid recipients. The program will also allow states to negotiate with drug makers; drug makers would get priority in that specific state if they lower their prices.

In order to participate in the pilot program, states would need to opt into the Healthy Adult Opportunity Program.
