“Who screens the screeners?” is probably the next question to start asking as a medical professional tasked with checking incoming passengers at Los Angeles International Airport recently tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the individual was wearing all of the proper protective gear while working as a “contract medical screener” for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The federal agency says the person is currently under self-quarantine at home with mild symptoms and under medical supervision after receiving Tuesday’s results.

Even though the screener’s last shift was February 21st, symptoms didn’t start showing until the 29th.
