A Washington D.C.-based restaurant group says it will stay open despite the city’s ban on public gatherings.

Hill Restaurant Group announced on its Facebook page that it “will continue to operate as normal” and “not bow down to pressure from the Mayor’s Office” to shut down. The group did promise to maintain “stricter safety precautions to protect our guests”.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser responded on Monday, saying “you must comply with the DC Health notice”. On Sunday, a ban on gatherings of more than 250 people was declared, along with restrictions on things like bar seating and keeping patrons at least six feet apart.
