The coronavirus outbreak has now topped 200,000 cases in the US, with Wednesday being the deadliest day of the pandemic.

Of the 210,000 Americans infected by COVID-19, at least 4,703 have died. More than 900 lost their lives on April 1st, a new daily high.

Health officials are now rethinking whether those not showing symptoms should wear masks while in public. Previously the World Health Organization said facial coverings were only necessary for health care workers and patients.

A study from Iceland showed that half of those testing positive are asymptomatic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates a quarter of coronavirus carriers have no symptoms.
