They want William Barr to resign – 2,000 of them. The former DOJ officials have all signed on to a letter criticizing the Attorney General’s decision to dismiss the case against former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, ABC News reports .

Flynn had pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI regarding his contact with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the presidential transition. However, the Justice Department dropped the charges after released documents exposed an alleged scheme by the FBI to set Flynn up.

Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy told Fox News that the FBI feared Flynn would uncover illegitimacies regarding the origins of the Russia probe.

However, the letter signed by 2,000 former officials accuses Barr of using the DOJ “as a tool to further President Trump’s personal and political interests.”
